Black History Kit Design
“I wanted this kit to serve as a reminder that we aren't, never have been, and won't ever truly be alone because our collective experience IS our connection.”
- Andrew Harris - Designer
When I'm not on the bike, I'm an architect, graphic designer, and salsa dancer. At the intersection of all my work is community, and I approach all projects with an eye towards details that tell stories.
Jamaican born, Brooklyn native for 25 years. Seitu Barnes' passion is in photography highlighting the disenfranchised population in NYC. In his professional life at the NYC Department of Education, he works closely with children and families in low income communities to ensure their educational or developmental needs are met. He is a member of the Brooklyn based Major Taylor Iron Riders. Seitu is also co-designer of a host of popular cycling kits.
PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE
For each of us these words have resonance. In some way or another, they represent moments and experiences, lineage and legacy, hopes and fears. Our stories are different and diverse, but together they create a tapestry, we call humanity.
