Founded in late 2019, the Cumberland Valley Collective (CVC) is a crew of veteran racers who believe the best part of cycling isn’t just competition—it’s community. While they still show up to throw down and crush some souls, they do it with style, purpose, and a whole lot of camaraderie.

Sure, there’s plenty of racing—on pavement and dirt—but CVC is just as much about the epic ride. Bikepacking, long hauls, day-after-day adventures… this team thrives on exploring the history, beauty, and grit of Pennsylvania’s Cumberland Valley and the greater East Coast. For them, the finish line is often a campfire, a cold drink, and a shared story after a ride that pushed their limits.

At its core, the Collective is built on belonging and three key missions:

1. Represent the Region

CVC exists to unify competitive cyclists across the Cumberland Valley, a stretch of southern Pennsylvania not always known for bike racing. Rather than ride for distant teams, they built one rooted in home. If you live in the Valley and race bikes—or want to—they want you with them.

2. Support Student-Athletes

Home to Shippensburg University, the area has a proud collegiate cycling legacy. CVC trains with current student-athletes, mentors new racers, and offers a racing home for ShipCycling alumni. Every kit proudly bears the “Schooled by ShipCycling” emblem as a nod to those roots.

3. Develop the Next Generation

CVC embraces the true spirit of the amateur athlete—racing for the love of it. Whether you’re a Cat 3 lifer, a high-potential junior, or just discovering racing, the team is a place to grow. Some riders may outgrow the squad and go national, but they’ll always remain part of the Collective.
