Just bought my second pair as these are definitely the most comforatble bibs I own. They've served me well on 10+ hour rides in mixed condition for multiple days with no major complaints. I dropped one star as they've stretched out a bit more, and wear at friction points with the saddle a bit faster, than other bibs I own. Stil, that's a small price to pay to come home after several hundred miles without saddle sores.
This is a pricey set of bibs that are best bought on sale, but worth the money regardless. The techy hex material feels durable and compressive throughout, with a substantial chamois that you'll love if you're into big miles like me. The big feature that places this item in Pactimo's "Range" category are the pockets. 2 rear pockets hide under your jersey for rarely used items (think CO2 cartrigages, spare tires, inflators, etc). Then there are the 2 large mesh hemi-cylidrical pockets (one on each lateral thigh). These pockets are a bit too big in my opinion, as heavier items always drift down towards the underside while riding. Smaller pockets (or pocket partitions) would solve this problem, but I still find use for these pockets to store lighter gear such as gels/hankies/garbage wrappers/ID/cash/etc. Overall, this is a great idea that should be carried forward and re-engineered in future iterations, and I'm more than happy to be on the ground floor as an early adopter for longer rides.
Overall experience was really good with these new bibs. Fit is excellent and pockets on outside of thighs are well placed and useful for snack bars, gels, etc. Just finished a 44 mile hilly ride with these bibs today. This was my second ride on this bib and overall very comfortable. My first ride was a little shorter, and I was really pleased with the chamois. On today’s ride my mind (and butt) we’re trying to decide if this chamois is as comfortable as previous versions if the 12 Hour Bib. May take a couple more rides to make that call. Overall another great Pactimo product.
I’ve only used them a few times but they are already one of my favorites. The leg pockets are great! Large enough to hold a ton, and right though to hold things in place while pedaling. I’ve only managed to wear them on a 5 hr ride, so I haven’t been able to really test out their comfort on longer rides, but so far they are excellent. Very comfortable. I sized them using the sizing chart (I’m XL) and when I got them they felt not as snug as my other XL Pactimo big shorts, so I was a little concerned. But it was nothing to worry about. They didn’t move on me during the ride. I’ll buy them again when needed.
I loved the fit, design, and quality of these bib shorts. I highly recommend to all levels of cyclists. Although the cost is on the north side of $150..., this price is well worth it.
I got these specifically because I do long, sometimes multi-day, tours where I spend 8-12 hours in the saddle. I had used the last generation 12-hour hour bib and loved it. The updated version is even better. No soreness or saddle sores after an 11 hour hard, hilly ride in upper 80s temperatures while carrying full bikepacking gear. The leg mesh pockets are a great bonus. I suffer seasonal allergies and have always found it awkward to keep tissues in my jersey pockets. These are great for that and for holding snack bars. I like to eat them while I ride, but usually only eat half at a time. These pockets are great to hold them between bites. I know that no one likes to talk about saddle sores and tissues, but I also know that I'm not the only one who has been looking for a solution. This bib is fantastic!
Have the same wonderful feel of regular stratos. Love them. Wouldn’t do a ride of more than 5 hours without them.
This bib was the most expensive item of clothing outside of a ski jacket or suit that I've ever purchased. I expected to love everything about it. I do not. I dislike that it's very difficult to lower the bib while wearing it to go *** -- like, really difficult. All of my previous bibs never presented a problem in this department. Further, the shoulder straps are not quite long enough so it's slightly uncomfortable (for reference I'm 6'2" and 170lbs and went with a Medium-Long). Lastly, even though I went with the long version, they are not long enough and mid-ride have worked their way back to where my old bibs typically rested. All in all, disappointed with what I got for my money. As for what's good, great compression, awesome topo graphic design, the pockets are really handy, too. Could've been a perfect bib, but at least for my body type, I think it's merely OK, which for the price is really tough to swallow.
I thought bib pockets were a gimmick when I first heard about them, but they really come in handy. These pockets are wide while also being tight. You can put your phone in and forget that it is there. No bouncing around! It’s tight enough to hold gels/food, trash, toll receipts, etc. Probably the best use is when you have an extended visit to a sketchy gas station bathroom…
To be honest, when I first felt the texture of the bibs, I had my doubts. It has this almost rough feel to it. But once I slipped them on, that texture feeling goes away and the fit like a glove. But it's not until you actually get in the saddle that this bib really shines. The chamois is hands down the best I've ever set my tender bits upon. It is incredibly comfortable; definitely my go-to for long rides. Absolutely recommend. Worth the money. Especially when you have a brand ambassador discount.
Our team used to use Pactimo for our kits. I ordered a pair of bibs for my personal use and the quality wasn't there. The stitching was felt on the skin. In addition the material was a heavier weight for a summer bib that it felt as though it wouldn't wick.
Excellent chamois plus pockets! Plenty of storage for snacks, phone, etc. Wore it on a 107 mi gravel race and 0 discomfort.
real long distance bibs, I`m 1.6cm tall 6.3kg and mis size is S
The fit is perfect, however I wish there was a flap over the mesh side pockets so ad to prevent anything spilling out. zharry41
They felt great all around and I love the pockets. I have ridden 6 to 8 hours in them and have no problems with them.
Really like this updated bib. Straps are super soft and the overall fit is what I'm used to from Pactimo. Side pockets are a nice bonus to stash snacks, gloves and other items. Super comfortable, my go to for longer 5+ hour rides.
