High Country Devo is Back for 2014

March 14, 2014

High Country Devo is back for 2014 with a full squad of 11 riders, some from last years team and some new and eager to prove themselves within the southeast!

The riders have been hard at work this winter and proving it out at the races recently with a total of 7 wins so far this year amongst both the public and collegiate racing scene.

Josh Brown was the first to get things started with back to back wins in the category 3/4 and Pro1/2/3 fields at the Triangle Velo Winter Series, qualifying him to earn his category 2 upgrade. The very next weekend Josh came away with a 2nd place finish in the Pro 1/2/3 field.

The team then gathered together for the first race within the Hincapie Spring Series. Josh Brown showed his strength again with a 4th place finish in the BMW Performance center crit from an early breakaway while Justin Evans won the category 3 race.

The following weekend the same group of riders made the trip back down to Greenville and had more strong performances with Alan Garvick getting a top 10 finish in Saturdays crit and Justin Evans grabbing 3rd in the category 3 race. The next day was another windy road race that separated much of the races but Justin Evans again came away with a 3rd place in the category 3 race.

This last weekend many of the riders were at UNCW and UNC for the first collegiate race of the season within the ACC conference. The mens A race was flat and fast resulting in a field spring that saw new guy Billy Raynor getting 2nd and Miles Hubbard getting 5th and Justin Evans just missing out on the top 10 with an 11th. The next day in the crit Justin Evans was the top finisher in 9th and Miles Hubbard was close behind in 11th, both of these riders working for HCD alumni and App State Club rider Zeb King.

March will be another busy month with more collegiate races including the High Countries own App State Race weekend on March 22nd and 22rd.

A Smart Investment In Women and Water
A Smart Investment In Women and Water

March 22, 2017

Together with Water.org, we have helped empower smart women like Aisyah through access to safe water.

Aisyah is a wife, a mother, and a farmer. Most critical to all of her roles is time. Asiyah explained, “Time to work my rice fields means more money I can make for my family; our life is better.” As a smart business woman growing one of Indonesia’s most desired crops, Aisyah recognized lack of access to water at home as the main obstacle keeping her from having the time needed to farm.

"Along with their custom and off the rack clothing for the warmer months, Pactimo has been helping cyclists warm as well. Pactimo’s Alpine Thermal RT jersey remains one of my favorite cold weather pieces, but this time Pactimo sent along a couple jackets that sit on either side of the Alpine in terms of warmth and weather protection."
