Rather than a superlight wind jacket that you take on and off during a ride, the Pactimo Flagstaff is designed to be something you’ll probably wear from start to finish, says marketing manager Josh Cook. It's for when the weather is cold enough that you want to stay covered, but you still want something that can breathe so you don’t overheat.
The front panels are wind- and waterproof, but the back is mesh to release body heat. The waistband offers 360-degree reflectivity, and the jacket is just light and small enough to fold up and fit into a jersey pocket. Gusseted cuffs make it a little harder to take off the Flagstaff while riding bike, but they keep the cold air and wind out. Two “pass-through” vents in the back allow access to your jersey pockets, and neatly close themselves back up with a magnetic closure once you return to the riding position. I love the track jacket styling, too.

I tested out the new Women’s Apex kit recently, and was pretty impressed. The Apex Jersey is super lightweight and breathable. The back and sleeves are made of a mesh-like fabric that offers great air flow on hot days and wicks moisture really well, even while wearing a hydration pack.
