Water.org – Water Gives Play

“When kids have access to safe water, there is more time to play!”

by Water.org

From now through the end of July, Water.org is celebrating “water gives play” – when kids have access to safe water at home, they have time to play.

Summer is a time for fun and play. Yet, for millions of kids who don’t have access to safe water, the carefree joys of summer are a world away. Whether they are paying high prices to buy water, or walking to a distant well or pond to get it, women and children spend 125 hours each day globally collecting water.

But, when safe water is present, kids have more time to laugh and play. To blow bubbles and fly kites. They have more time to just be kids.

Keep an eye out for August and September. During this time Water.org will celebrate that “water gives bright futures” – access to safe water gives kids time to learn; no longer walking to collect water, they can spend their days at school learning and looking ahead to a bright future.
