Sea Otter Recap 2017

Sea Otter Rides with Rahsaan Bahati.

Last week, several Pactimo Brand Ambassadors were able to make it out to Sea Otter and Ride with Rahsaan Bahati and Pactimo VP of Custom Sales, Karl Heidgen. It was really exciting to see such a great turnout for both Thursday and Saturday rides.

Here's a quick recap quick recap of each ride from Karl:

Day 1- Thursday, April 20th: We awoke to cloudy skies, wet roads, and the threat for more rain. We met approximately 25 riders including BA Jorand with her posse of 4 friends all the way from Florida and other Pactimo customers from Oregon to Cali.

After fueling up, we departed south towards the Pebble Beach GC Cub House. Thirty minutes into the ride we already had blue skies and perfect riding conditions to watch the seals and massive surf pounding the coast. Rahsaan managed a selfie during the ride with every single rider...all while keeping up a brisk pace.

Day 2 - Saturday, April 22nd: BA KITS arrived!!! Today we were joined by a group of about 25 riders including three Brand Ambassadors proudly sporting the new kits that arrived the day before. We had Kent who enjoyed the ride so much we went out after the ride was over to get more mileage and do it again. Marco from the L.A. area drove all night just so he could meet us for the early departure! Local Chris Caine came out and afterwords and said..."I have to leave now or I am going to eat that whole tub of Cinnamon Rolls!" HAHA!

As part of the Jordan posse attending the Pactimo brand ride I would like to thank you for your warm welcome and hospitality. We all had a great experience riding the Pebble Beach route with Bahati. California is definitely a big difference from riding the flats in the heat coming from south Florida. You can’t really beat the scenery out there, just beautiful. Again, thanks for a great memorable ride, and Ross says thanks for the T shirt!

Perhaps I’d set my sights a little high but I’d now targeted TCR as my first real venture into endurance racing. The rules are simple, the clock starts at 2200hr in Geraardsbergen, Belgium, and stops when you cross the finish line in Meteora, Greece, some 4,000km later having visited the four checkpoints.

"I finished 9,000 miles having to ride at night, in blizzard conditions and in some insane winter winds, but I succeeded and set the next goal to ride the trip of a lifetime; a 7 day bike adventure in Italy with my brother. Throughout it all I noticed I could not sustain the power I was used to easily producing, and began to get dropped on some group rides that I easily was able to handle before."
