Pactimo Announces Light Gives Heat as July ‘10 in 10’ Campaign Selection

July 01, 2013

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO.  July 1, 2013 – Pactimo, Colorado-based provider of premium cycling and triathlon apparel, has announced Light Gives Heat as their first ‘10 in 10’ campaign selection.  The ’10 in ’10 campaign was designed with the goal of benefitting ten non-profit organizations in 2013.  The program commemorates Pactimo’s tenth year of operations, as well as its core mission of having a positive impact on society.

“We are excited to have selected LGH of Grand Junction, Colorado as our ‘10 in 10’ selection for the month of July.  “The impact this organization makes for women in Africa is amazing,” said Pactimo CEO, Frank Kim.  “We have been so fortunate already in 2013 working with wonderful non-profits like LGH.”

Light Gives Heat’s mission is empowering Africans through the encouragement of economic sustainability and creative endeavors. LGH is motivating people in the west to “be the change they want to see in the world.” They are completing their mission by partnering with local Artisans in Uganda to create consistent incomes where there once were none.  These beautiful handcrafted African products are then sold in U.S.  Their vision is to see Africa rebuilt and renewed from the inside out and to see people in the West living with Hope.

“We’re incredibly grateful to be selected as one of Pactimo’s 10 in 10 Organizations – it’s a great opportunity to reach a new audience with our endeavors in international economic development,” said Dave Hansow, LGH Creative Director/ Co-Founder.

About Light Gives Heat

In 2007, Dave and Morgan Hansow formed Light Gives Heat with the intention to ‘simply go and meet real needs.’  During a trip to Uganda with the goal of adopting their daughter Jadyn, they learned what life looks like when it is lived with hope by the women of the SUUBI.  Dave and Morgan began the SUUBI project that offered displaced women from war-torn Northern Uganda the opportunity to earn a consistent income.  The women of SUUBI have proved that the past does not determine one’s future, that circumstances in our lives don’t have to affect the love and joy we live with, and that hope is a choice! In 2018, Dirty Kanza organizers added a more extreme option to the event: the 350-mile DKXL. This feat of endurance pits riders against rough roads and weather that can swing from oppressive heat to hailstorms and headwinds. Participants ride through an entire day and night with no support other than what they can carry or find at stores along the route.
