GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO November 1, 2013 – Pactimo, a Denver based provider of premium cycling and triathlon apparel, is excited to announce FRIENDS FIRST, Inc. as their November 10in10 campaign selection. The 10in10 campaign was designed with the goal of benefitting ten non-profit organizations in 2013. The program commemorates Pactimo’s tenth year of operations, as well as its core mission of having a positive impact on society.
FRIENDS FIRST was founded by Dr. Lisa Rue in 1993 to address the increasing trend of out-of-wedlock childbearing and incidence of births to teen mothers. The initial programming focused on mentoring youth and encouraging them to delay the onset of sexual behavior. Since its inception, FRIENDS FIRST expanded the focus to include promoting healthy choices to youth to refrain from using alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and violence, as well as encouraging positive youth development, character, and leadership.
“FRIENDS FIRST believes “It takes a village to raise a child.” For 20 years, we have partnered with parents, schools and community based organizations to help our young people and their families to communicate effectively, make positive life choices and have successful futures especially in the areas of healthy relationships. It is a privilege to now begin to partner with private businesses, such as Pactimo. What a great commitment on the part of Pactimo by investing in our young people and helping them to achieve their life goals. We are thrilled to be a part of the Pactimo 10in10 campaign which truly shows their compassion to work towards the greater good of our communities.” said Elycia R. Cook, FRIENDS FIRST Executive Director.
“FRIENDS FIRST is a truly amazing organization,” said Pactimo CEO, Frank Kim. “Their philosophy that healthy relationships provide the foundation for successful futures is demonstrated through their education, mentoring and support programs that empower teens to make positive life choices. We are really excited to share in that mission and engage community involvement to rally support for teens and positive life choices.”
Pactimo has a history of partnering with charitable causes and has donated over $100,000 in cash donations. During each selected charity’s month, these 10in10 organizations will be highlighted in Pactimo’s extensive customer and industry communication channels. Pactimo will sponsor a matching grant program to encourage cash donations, and its e-commerce site will feature a specifically designed cycling jersey and running tee to raise funds for the organization.
