This Summer 2014, Justin Ahrens and Brian MacDonald will be riding from the Atlantic Ocean to the shores of Lake Michigan (1,000 miles) for a life-changing cause.

In collaboration with Lifewater, a nonprofit working towards solutions for the world’s water crisis, their Wheels4Water ride will provide an entire Ugandan community water for life. On the way they will stop to ask for water whenever they need it, filter water from open sources when they can, and tell everyone they can about Africa’s reality. Their experience will be shared every step of the way via social media.

Addressing the clean water and sanitation crisis across the world will have indefinite effects on disease, school attendence, women’s livelihoods, and the economic wellbeing of developing countries. There’s a lot of work to be done, but Wheels4Water and Lifewater are ready to tackle the issue…and we want you to join them on the journey.

Just two guys, using their skills and riding their bikes to make a difference.

When confronted with the harsh realities of the worldwide water and sanitation crisis, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed. 800 million people around the world don’t have safe water. 2.5 billion lack access to sanitation resources. Every 21 seconds a child dies from water-related illnesses. The numbers are staggering and wearying.

How do you even begin to address this crisis?

Justin (right, above) and Brian don’t assume to have all the answers, but, with the help of Lifewater International, they do have a few first steps figured out. Addressing the clean water and sanitation crisis across the world will have indefinite effects on disease, school attendance, women’s livelihoods, and the economic wellbeing of developing countries.

Please watch these videos and share with your friends. The guys are taking a journey to make a change, and it will only be possible if you join in.
