Danny Summerhill (K-Edge/Felt Bicycles) won the second of two races on day two of the Trek CXC Cup.
Thanks to the more flowing and open course, day two’s racing was especially exciting and wound up with a tight three-man sprint, and Summerhill bested both Timothy Johnson (Cannondale Cyclocrossworld) and Yannick Eckmann (California Giant Berry Farms/Sp).
Summerhill appeared to have a truly relaxed outlook to racing on day two, “The less pressure I can put on myself the more fun I can have with it, and generally, the better the outcome for me,” said Summerhill. “Today I didn’t even warm up or anything, I was just doing wheelies in the parking lot, not really thinking about the race, and it was heaps better than what I could pull out yesterday.”
Summerhill, a Silver Medalist at the 2007 Cyclocross World Championships, announced just a few weeks ago that he would be riding for K-Edge/Felt Bicycles during the 2013 / 2014 Cyclocross season.
“We are thrilled to have Danny back on our bikes, especially in conjunction with K-Edge and this new cyclocross program.” says Doug Martin, Sports Marketing Director for FELT Bicycles. “Danny has always been an exceptional talent and his ‘cross skills are well suited to our FX-line. Felt has always been a competition-driven company and we take great pride in aligning ourselves with quality athletes and people–Danny is both. We are excited to be racing together.”
Summerhill also selected Pactimo as his clothing partner and was wearing the Summit Speed skinsuit during the Trek CXC Cup. As the season continues, and the weather turns colder, he will be wearing the Cyclocross Thermal skinsuit.
Pactimo is currently running a special offer for cyclocrossers to get individual custom CX clothing without need to meet a 5-piece minimum. The offer will be available through October 2013.
