Don’t miss the June edition of Road Bike Action Magazine, on newsstands now, for a chance to get to know Vanderkitten’s Emily Kachorek.
The 33-year old cyclist, from San Diego, California, says she is coming into the 2013 season with a slightly different plan than in the past.
“Rather than storming into the year with great fitness,” she says, “I’m going to take a slower path so I can peak later in the season without being burnt going into the winter–that way I can focus on cyclocross too.”
On women’s racing she says, “I think the sport on the women’s side has grown a ton since I was racing collegiate. NorCal has really become a hotbed for women’s cycling in the U.S. We have a lot of races with large, really strong fields. That depth just pushes everyone to continue improving.”
