Congratulations to the Barclays Bank Graduates who took part in the London to Paris bike ride this past week, in aid of Education for All Morocco.
The team raised over £15,000 which will support twenty girls for a year in one of the four boarding houses operated by Education for All Morocco.
The team left the Barclays building on Canary Warf on Wednesday morning, 22nd May, and took the Woolwich ferry across the Thames, before heading out into the Kent countryside for a punishing 120km first leg straight to Dover. The team completed the 400km journey in a knee-numbing four days, tackling terrifying traffic in two European capitals, and grinding through the gears up some demanding hills.
The weather was cold throughout and days two and three saw hail, sleet and heavy rain, to add to the challenge. The support team helped mend a staggering 20 punctures, and a monumental quantity of food was consumed, fuelling the participants towards their goal. We were very impressed by the team, their grit and determination shone through, and they supported each other through a tough four days.
